Ferrari 458 Spider 2012

Engine of the Year 2012, praised by almost everyone, but crazy numbers … But there is a “but”. The Ferrari 458 Spider 4.5-liter V8 engine (570 hp and 540 Nm) does not take on the role of the protagonist. Here is the aluminum roof, there is its tilt mechanism at 180 °, there is a slot system – was even an origami – which saves up to 25 pounds compared to a traditional fabric roof.
Judging from the video seems almost a formality, a breeze, particularly in light of the 14 seconds required to complete the movement of opening or closing. Once folded, the hard-top is concealed by movable bulkhead behind the cockpit and sits in the engine compartment. A solution of impact and highly effective, similar to those already proposed by the Super America.
Debuted at the Frankfurt International Motor Show and presence at the Motor Show Bologna 2011 for the Ferrari 458 Spider is a convertible version of the 458 Italy. Confirmed the retractable hardtop, and the abandonment of the well structure canvas, the traditional car until yesterday on the last Horse is the Ferrari 430. Thanks to a button on the center console, the Ferrari 458 Spider is transformed in 14 seconds. The aluminum hard top structure is described as totally integrated in the style of the 458 and should weigh some 25 pounds less than the fabric structure. It has also been developed so as not to compromise the aerodynamics and performance of the Ferrari 458 Spider.
The Ferrari 458 Spider introduces two rear fins that direct air flow to the hood and radiator oil clutch and gearbox, while the new adjustable windbreak is effective up to 200 km / h. The chassis provides the same structural rigidity as you travel with the roof open or closed, while the total weight amounts to 1,430 pounds (detected with forged wheels and Racing seats) and revealed more than 50 pounds compared to 458 Italy. Obviously cannot miss the F1 gearbox double clutch seven grafts and the E-Diff3. Finally, the throttle mapping, suspension settings and tone drain receiving new calibrations.
